Discover Georgie Girl!
by site admin on Feb.22, 2010, under General
Nothing happens by chance. In May of 2004, Be Well Massage and Georgie Girl both opened in Haddonfield NJ. Since then, I have had the pleasure to become friends with Cindy, the owner of Georgie Girl. From the first time I met Cindy, back in those early days of her smaller shop, I knew there was something special about her. Every time I visit Georgie Girl, she makes me feel as if I am the most important customer, and something tells me I am not the only customer who feels that way. She always seems to know just what I am looking for, even if I don’t know it yet. Cindy gets me to step out of my comfort zone to try something new, which is good for me! Cindy and her staff are fun and friendly; it is a true joy to visit Georgie Girl. I love everything I have purchased from Georgie Girl…or received as a gift, thank you!!!
Last year, Cindy expanded her shop and now has 2 floors of trend setting, fun and flirty clothing, lingerie, jewelry, handbags, shoes and accessories for…guess who? The Georgie Girl in YOU!!! Please check out Georgie Girl’s website http://georgiegirlboutique.com/, or, better yet…get to Haddonfield and visit Cindy and her staff in person!!! Become a Georgie Girl!!!
Be Well,
Amy
Good timing…

Here is a quote a friend sent to me when I was going through a hard time. It came as a surprise when I received it, but it was perfect timing, and just what I needed to hear. It showed me that someone cared and was thinking of me during her busy day, and the quote helped me see things in a different light. Thank you friend
Life is too short to wake up in
the morning with regrets, so love
the people who treat you right,
forget about the ones who don’t,
and believe that everything
happens for a reason. If you get a
chance, take it. If it changes
your life, let it. Nobody said
life would be easy, they just
promised it would be worth it.

It’s A Wonderful Life…In Haddonfield!
by site admin on Dec.14, 2009, under General
A few years ago, I was able to find everything I needed in Haddonfield, in just 3 hours-on Black Friday! I have to say, it was the most pleasant shopping experience I have ever had, and the gifts I found that year were truly unique and special.
This year, I was not quite ready to start on Black Friday, but I have made a few purchases since then, all in my favorite little town. I am determined to continue my tradition in Haddonfield, and will not visit the malls this season. That might sound harsh; I am not trying to take business away from the malls or box stores. However, it seems that these places have done a number on our smaller stores and family businesses over the last few years. I do not want to see the small towns disappear only to be replaced by strip malls and larger corporate chains. I realize these places are necessary, but so are the towns.
Let me tell you why. I work in Haddonfield, as you all know. Every day, on my lunch break, I leave my office and go for a walk. My spirit is lifted as I walk by each store and say hello to all of my friends in and out of the stores and restaurants. The kids on the street also know the shop owners by name. It is like going back in time. This weekend I watched “It’s A Wonderful Life” and I could see the similarities between Haddonfield and good old Bedford Falls. It is a wonderful life when you have friends everywhere you go. The only way to get that is to go out and meet people. Haddonfield is the perfect place to do it! The UPS guy and I laugh when we bump into each other at a new place! Life is more fun when you know the people you are doing business with. Shop owners who know you will go out of their way for you, that doesn’t happen at the mall.
George Bailey learned in the end, that everything he needed was right at home in Bedford Falls. I’m glad I already know that for me, it’s right here in Haddonfield! Wishing everyone a happy holiday, however you choose to celebrate…and a New Year filled with good health, joy and prosperity!

Holiday Fashion Tips from French Touch Image Consulting
Written by Marie-Therese Norris
Fall is finally here. I love this time of year. I love everything about it – the crisp air, the hearty dinners and the warm embrace of a favorite wool sweater. The blessed calm before the holiday storm.
Yes, Ladies, the holidays will soon be upon us and with them the usual round of social and business get-togethers that require the appropriate holiday attire. And so, while we still have our wits about us and the pickings are fresh and plentiful, now is the perfect time to hunt for the Perfect Party Dress (a/k/a the “PPD”).
Here are a few things to consider before you hit the stores.
You may already have a PPD in your closet and are wondering if you can get away with wearing it again. Will the same people be there again this year? Will they remember the dress? Chances are if you made a spectacle of yourself at the office Christmas party last year, it probably won’t be the dress that everyone remembers.
Anna Wintour regularly wears the same dress to numerous high profile events in the same season. In fact, she says she may wear a favorite dress up to 20 times in a year. She was photographed wearing this black-and-white Carolina Herrera creation more than three times during New York Fashion Week.
If the Editor of Vogue says it’s O.K., who are we to say nay? If you do decide to wear last year’s PPD to this year’s party, you may want to make it look new and fresh with a great new accessory or two.
Want to steal the spotlight at that chichi cocktail party in the Hamptons? Slip your little tootsies into these beauties by Christian Louboutin and I guarantee you strong men will weep with desire while wives and girlfriends will go positively green and NOT for the good of the environment.
If you decide you do need a new PPD and do not already own a Little Black Dress (shame on you!!), check out my article, “Secrets of the Little Black Dress,” for tips on choosing the perfect LBD.
Tired of the Little Black Dress and want to go for something with a bit more zing and a lot more bling? Go for satin or brocade in a rich ruby, amethyst or sapphire; but be aware that shiny fabrics can be extremely unforgiving. Their light-reflecting properties can create lumps and bumps where none exist or emphasize those that do, and brocade adds bulk. The dress must be a perfect fit.
During the Camelot years at the White House Jackie Kennedy was famous for her beautiful brocade and shimmering satin day dresses and evening gowns. The much-photographed First Lady knew that everything she wore had to look good close up, from a distance and in pictures.
Her favorite designer, Oleg Cassini, made sure there was a tiny gap between the dress and its paper-thin lining. This cushion of air allowed the shiny fabric to float lightly over Jackie’s body avoiding any unflattering shadows.
Here’s a Juicy Jackie tidbit: When criticized by the American press for favoring French designers, she chose Oleg Cassini to design her inaugural ball gown. Cassini was a naturalized American citizen, born and raised in Paris. Jackie appeased the American press while getting what she wanted - that all-important French Touch.

What are the benefits of Massage Therapy?
by site admin on Nov.03, 2009, under General
Someone recently asked me, “What are some of the benefits of massage therapy?” There are so many benefits, and I believe it is different for every person, every situation and even every mood. A massage client who is an athlete might tell you it helps muscles prepare for exercise and recover after extreme exertion. A busy executive who receives monthly massages might say it helps with stress, anxiety and mental focus. Then there is the person who works with tools and climbs ladders who might tell you massage helps with repetitive use injuries and knee pain. Of course there is always the person who will tell you it just feels good.
My favorite part about getting a massage, aside from the documented benefits, is the time out that is just for me. It is a time to let go and drift off into that wonderful massage dream state as the massage therapist does the work that needs to be done. Awareness comes over me as I realize where my body is holding tension and stress. This is when I can breathe and release the cares and worries that are not serving me. Massage therapy nurtures my body and soul and reminds me to slow down. I always feel full of joy and gratitude after a massage.
Be Well Massage serves clients from various backgrounds. Every client chooses how often to come in for a massage, how long the session will be, and what areas of the body need the most attention on that day. Each massage is different from the next, which means the benefit of each massage will be different. Most of our clients have repeating massage appointments because they see a benefit in receiving massage on a regular basis as part of their wellness routine. Those clients who choose to come in less frequently may see a benefit in using massage therapy as a special treat or reward. No matter what the reason, massage should always feel good! How would you answer the question? Maybe it is time for a massage…

A few things I just love…
by site admin on Oct.13, 2009, under General
Welcome to fall…this is my favorite season. I always enjoy walking through town on my break between massage appointments, but this time of year is by far the best. The air is crisp, the sky is so beautiful, and everyone is full of energy.
I wanted to tell you about a few places in town that I just can’t stay away from. Number one is Cafe Loka. They are in the Kings Court, and it is my favorite place for a yummy breakfast or lunch. The price is right, and the menu is delicious and healthy. Kathleen, Lori and Tracy are awesome. It is a place you can go with a friend or two, or by yourself…I am there at least twice a week, if not more! I am stuck on the ham, egg and cheese wrap…YUM!!!
Number two…there is a new store in town called Z’s Treasures. It is located on Mechanic Street. It is a beautiful little shop filled with gorgeous handmade gifts from Turkey and other far-away places. Jewelry, dishes, clothing…and all priced very well to treat yourself or a friend. The owner, Zeynep, is a lovely person and a new friend. She also teaches bellydance! What a wonderful addition to our town!
Number three…The Grind House Cafe, right on Kings Highway. This is best coffee shop in town! Cool music, organic goodies, great staff-what more could you ask for? Oh, you wanna’ know about the coffee? Well, it is from a NJ roaster and it is dee-lish. My favorite blend is the Three-Eyed Budha. Best part is you can go next door and browse the Accent Studio while you enjoy your coffee! They have beautiful gifts priced for everyone, big wallet…small wallet…they gotcha covered. They are also the best and most creative framing studio around
So, now you know some of the places I visit when I am not giving a massage. I truly love our little town of Haddonfield and don’t usually venture too far out. I will do most of my holiday shopping right here…and take a break to find some good eats too! Maybe I’ll see you around town

Time to Celebrate…
by site admin on Sep.23, 2009, under General
Hello Friends!
Thank you for coming back to our blog. This summer was filled with ups and downs as we worked through the “move that never was”. If you haven’t yet heard the news, Be Well is not relocating at this time. We are staying in our current location on Kings Highway. We are all happy with the decision to stay, as we believe it is the best thing for our clients.
In May of this year, Be Well Massage hit the 5 year mark in Haddonfield. This is a very exciting milestone, we love our town! We were planning to celebrate this with a grand opening at a new location this summer. Since that didn’t happen, we will work on another way to celebrate. In the meantime, I would like to acknowledge two other very special anniversaries in September: Lori Toll celebrates 4 years with Be Well and Joanne celebrates 3 years. I am very grateful to both of them for their years of hard work, dedication and loyalty to Be Well and our clients. And, honestly, it is a joy and a pleasure to work side by side with each of them!
We are gearing up for the holiday season and will have lots of news and specials ready for you soon. Please check back to see what’s coming next. In the meantime, be sure to take good care and let us know how we can help…
